What are probiotics?

In your gut, millions of microorganisms reside, forming your gut microbiome. These microorganisms, also found in various types of food, are called probiotics. Food containing probiotics is referred to as probiotic food. It's important to consume probiotics daily as they play a role in gut health. You can find probiotics in yogurt, tempeh, kefir, and fermented foods such as kombucha and kimchi. Besides probiotics, prebiotics are often mentioned. Prebiotics are food for the bacteria in your gut, whereas probiotics are the bacteria themselves.

How much probiotics per day?

In principle, we get enough probiotics from food, and supplementation is usually not necessary.
