Accessibility Statement – Website – European Accessibility Act (EAA)

Vitaminstore Online B.V.

Service(s) to which this statement pertains: online webshop and delivery platform for vitamins, supplements, and related products, accessible via www.vitaminstore.nl.

Date of issue: 15-01-2026

1. Digital accessibility at Vitaminstore.nl

We believe that everyone should be able to use our website independently—whether you're searching for products, reading information, placing an order, or managing your details. Therefore, we are committed to continuously improving digital accessibility, so that as many people as possible (including those with disabilities) can shop without barriers.

The European Accessibility Act (EAA) sets accessibility requirements for digital services like e-commerce. In the Netherlands, this is included in the Implementation Act on Accessibility Requirements for Products and Services. With this statement, we explain how we address accessibility, what is already working well, and what we still need to improve.

2. Relationship with other legislation

In addition to the EAA, we take into account other relevant laws and regulations, such as:

  • GDPR: protection of personal data.
  • Telecommunications Act: rules regarding digital communication and consumer protection.

These frameworks are practically aligned with each other.

3. Description of the service

Through www.vitaminstore.nl, we offer a digital ordering service (e-commerce). Visitors can view, compare, and order products, with delivery options provided on the website.

4. What you can do as a customer on the website

  • Search, filter, and view products, and read product information.
  • Fill a shopping cart, place orders, and checkout.
  • (Where available) log in and view/manage your data or order history.

Our general terms and conditions apply to the use of the website.

5. Accessibility and customer contact

For us, accessibility goes beyond just technology: we also want customers to be assisted with questions or issues.

Contact regarding accessibility

Do you have a question, is something not working, or would you like to report an accessibility issue? Email us at klantenservice@vitaminstore.nl.

Please describe which page/section it concerns, what you were trying to do, and which tool you are using (e.g., screen reader or keyboard), so we can investigate it specifically.

6. Accessibility options and support (current situation)

We design the website to be as usable as possible with common tools and settings, including:

  • Keyboard navigation: the core of the website is generally operable with a keyboard. We have implemented significant improvements here, but this has not yet been independently assessed by an external accessibility expert or specialised agency.
  • Screen reader support: where possible, pages and interactions are designed to work with screen readers.
  • Font size and zoom: the website should remain usable when enlarged (browser/OS settings).
  • Responsive use: the layout adapts to different screen sizes.

7. Applied standards and guidelines

We focus on accessibility requirements as they are practically implemented through:

  • EN 301 549 (accessibility standard for ICT products and services in Europe), and
  • WCAG 2.2 level AA (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines).

Where possible, we strive for clear, understandable texts.

8. Conformity assessment (how we check)

Currently, we base the assessment mainly on:

  • Self-assessment and internal checks during design and development.
  • Practical tests on parts of the main customer flows (e.g., search, product detail, shopping cart, checkout), including keyboard use.

Important: the website has not yet been recently and fully assessed through an independent external audit by a specialised accessibility party. Therefore, there may be issues that we have not yet identified.

9. Conformity status

Based on the current internal assessment, we conclude that www.vitaminstore.nl partially complies with the relevant accessibility requirements (EN 301 549 / WCAG 2.2 AA). We are actively working on improvements.

10. Known points of attention (possibly not fully compliant yet)

Since a full external audit has not yet been conducted, it is possible that issues still exist, for example with:

  • complex interactive elements (such as filters, carousels, modals, or dynamic updates);
  • error messages and instructions in forms (e.g., how and when feedback is read aloud);
  • focus order and visibility of focus in exceptional situations;
  • completeness of accessible names/labels for some buttons or icons.

When reports come in or we find issues, we prioritise solutions based on user impact and frequency.

11. Action plan and continuous improvement

We continue to structurally improve accessibility. Consider:

  • further refinement of keyboard operation (logical focus, no "focus traps", consistent operation);
  • improving labels, roles, and status messages for screen readers;
  • optimising forms (input assistance, error handling, clear instructions);
  • periodic rechecks after changes and releases.

We update this statement when there are materially relevant improvements or changes.

12. Declaration

Vitaminstore.nl declares that www.vitaminstore.nl is designed to meet the accessibility requirements of the European Accessibility Act (EAA), and that the website is currently partially compliant. We continue to work on removing remaining barriers.
