I take it in the evening if constipated; it's gentle and very effective.

I think it works. It's a bit short to say anything definitive.
I have been using this product for over 10 years now. It might not be the cheapest alternative, but it works perfectly for me and is conveniently packaged, so you can easily take it with you on, for example, a holiday or a weekend away.
I have been using the multiple fibre formula for over a year now; I take one tablet every evening before going to bed. My bowel movements have greatly improved and I no longer experience bloating. I drink two glasses of water with this product to prevent any blockage.

The fibres in the Multiple Fibre Formula can even support the effectiveness of the probiotics, as fibres have a prebiotic effect. This means they serve as food for the 'good' bacteria in your gut. I have heard that most gut bacteria do not like pectin, while other sites [the majority] claim that pectin increases butyric acid levels. Specifically, Monoglobus.pectinilyticus can only break it down.

It serves as food for the gut flora, and as a byproduct, short-chain fatty acids such as butyric acid are produced. Butyric acid, acetic acid, and propionic acid are the most well-known short-chain fatty acids, and they are essential for, among other things, the energy supply of the intestinal epithelium. When a person has a healthy gut flora, pectin can be processed well; however, in an imbalanced gut flora, a lot of gas formation will initially occur. Therefore, it is important that the diet contains sufficient variety of fibres, as this is what the gut flora thrives on.

When using the aforementioned fibre products, there is no need to stop using Macrogol and the electrolytes. You can safely combine them. You may gradually reduce the dosage of Macrogol if that goes well.

It is essential to drink sufficient water even after taking such products, as the fibres absorb large amounts of moisture in the stomach.

However, it is important to drink sufficient water with this product when experiencing constipation, as insufficient water can lead to an adverse effect (a dry "lump" in the intestines instead of a soft gel).
If there is a physical obstruction in the intestines, such as a severe narrowing, then one should indeed be cautious with psyllium and similar fibres. They are not intended to block the narrowing like a cork.
