There is no recommended daily amount of ashwagandha. In an ashwagandha supplement, it is important that there is enough of the active compound, withanolide, per dose. In addition to the active compound withanolide, the leaves of the ashwagandha herb also contain another compound: withaferin A. However, you would rather not ingest this compound as it does not have a positive effect on the body and can even negatively affect the efficacy of withanolide.
