Valerian

Valerian is a plant, known as Valeriana officinalis, which grows in Europe and parts of Asia. The roots of the valerian plant have been used for centuries for medicinal purposes due to their calming and relaxing effects.

Valerian has various uses:

There is no recommended daily amount for valerian. For most valerian supplements, one capsule per day is sufficient. If there is an increased need, this may vary from two to three capsules spread throughout the day. Note: be cautious with the use of valerian when high mental alertness is required, such as when driving.
