L-lysine naturally occurs mainly in animal foods, but this supplement is 100% plant-based and therefore suitable for vegans. It contains no milk or soy components.

When I feel that I'm about to get a cold sore, I take a lysine tablet from Solgar twice a day, in the morning and evening, for a few days. Usually, I then don't get a cold sore, or it's gone within a week.

Hello, I have two questions regarding the use of Lysine. 1. Can children aged 3 and 6 use it too? I want to use extra Lysine for them to give their growth an extra boost. What is recommended in this case? 2. I have just purchased several Solgar products from you. Only children from the age of 12 could be considered for this. For children, we always advise consulting a doctor or dietitian before administering dietary supplements.
Can Lysine help with hair loss? I've tried the hair, skin & nails supplement but it causes insomnia for me, even if I take just one tablet in the morning.

I am very satisfied with the effectiveness of the L-Lysine 1000 mg Free Form. However, I find it unpleasant to swallow such large pills. Is there a similar L-Lysine Free Form in this dosage in a smaller tablet or capsule (possibly another brand)? Regards
