Solgar's L-Lysine 1000 mg provides one gram of the essential amino acid lysine per tablet, in free form. Although this amino acid, in combination with other amino acids, is found in many foods, it may be desirable to temporarily increase the intake of this amino acid alone.
L-lysine naturally occurs mainly in animal foods, but this supplement is 100% plant-based and therefore suitable for vegans. It contains no milk or soy components.
Also available in 500 mg capsules.

I've been using it for years!
When I feel that I'm about to get a cold sore, I take a lysine tablet from Solgar twice a day, in the morning and evening, for a few days. Usually, I then don't get a cold sore, or it's gone within a week.

Hello, I have two questions regarding the use of Lysine. 1. Can children aged 3 and 6 use it too? I want to use extra Lysine for them to give their growth an extra boost. What is recommended in this case? 2. I have just purchased several Solgar products from you. Can they all be used together safely? - l-lysine 1000mg - magnesium citrate 200mg - b complex high potency - vm 2000 - ester c plus 1000mg - vitamin d3 25mcg I look forward to hearing back from you. On 29 october 2024 by Customer serviceThe products you've mentioned can generally be taken together. However, I would not recommend giving them to children at such a young age. Only children from the age of 12 could be considered for this. For children, we always advise consulting a doctor or dietitian before administering dietary supplements.
Can Lysine help with hair loss? I've tried the hair, skin & nails supplement but it causes insomnia for me, even if I take just one tablet in the morning.

I am very satisfied with the effectiveness of the L-Lysine 1000 mg Free Form. However, I find it unpleasant to swallow such large pills. Is there a similar L-Lysine Free Form in this dosage in a smaller tablet or capsule (possibly another brand)? Regards
