Does Lysine help with shingles?

The Super L-Lysine contains, in addition to L-Lysine, vitamin C and provides support for the immune system and resistance, and can therefore be effectively used, for example, in cases of shingles to support resistance.
I've read that the pill is quite large and I struggle with swallowing pills. Is it harmful to split them in half using a pill cutter?

Hello, Is it possible to take L-lysine at the same time as other amino acids like L-proline and L-glycine without compromising absorption? I've understood that free amino acids can compete with each other for absorption, and I was wondering if this might be the case with the combination mentioned above. Thank you in advance!
On 28 august 2020 by Customer serviceIt is indeed correct that competition can occur for absorption when single amino acids are taken simultaneously with food, which naturally also contains amino acids. When single amino acids are taken in higher doses and also at the same time, there is a risk of competition, but since an excess is often consumed, there will be enough of the single amino acids left for absorption. L-lysine, L-proline, and L-glycine are often found in combination in supplements and do not generally hinder each other's absorption.
There are single amino acids that compete more strongly with each other than others: for example, do not take L-lysine and L-arginine at the same time.

Therefore, pure lysine can generally be safely used as a dietary supplement during pregnancy (although the packaging usually includes a disclaimer advising consultation with a healthcare provider first).
A L-lysine supplement that contains only L-lysine is, for example, Solgar's L-Lysine 1000 mg.

However, according to new legislation, the label can only provide one piece of advice, and for this product, the choice was made to state "with a meal."
Update: we are going to change the label. The new usage advice will be as follows:
Take 1 tablet daily. Preferably take it half an hour before breakfast or dinner.
