Solgar Super Cod Liver Oil Complex is an ideal supplement to a multi, based on cod liver oil and fish oil. Cod liver oil contains vitamins A, D. Fish oil contains omega-3 fatty acids. Vitamin A helps maintain normal mucous membranes. Vitamin D plays a role in bone formation and the immune system. EPA and DHA are important building blocks for the brain, play a role in brain function and are good for vision. The intended effect can be achieved with a daily intake of 250 mg EPA and DHA (including food) or 450 mg EPA and DHA (pregnant women and breastfeeding).
The Super Cod Liver Oil provides 202 mg EPA, 185 mg DHA, 906 mcg vitamin A and 25 mcg vitamin D-3 per capsule.

In my opinion, this is absolutely the best vitamin D.
I really recommend this for boosting immunity during the winter/autumn/spring.
Does what it needs to do, although I did experience some burping. However, I get this with other fish oils as well.

Good day, A good friend gives this supplement to her dog with very good results (joint issues). We also have a dog with the same problems. Can I give this safely? Our dog is a boxer and weighs approximately 38 kg, he is a neutered male. I would appreciate your opinion/expertise. Kind regards, Anneke de Roo

Is it permissible to use this tablet if you have diabetes and are taking metformin medication?

The ingredients do not have a direct impact on blood sugar levels or the effectiveness of metformin. However, it is advisable not to take the supplement simultaneously with medication, but to allow approximately 2 hours between them.
Hello, I see that this super cod liver oil complex contains a little over 900 mcg of vitamin A. I read on the RIVM that as a 20-year-old you should be getting around 900 mcg. Wouldn't this be too much if you also consider that you get vitamin A from three meals a day?

Although this is on the higher side, it remains well below the acceptable upper limit of 3000 mcg. As an alternative, you might choose to use fish oil and vitamin D separately, as these nutrients can sometimes be difficult to obtain through diet alone. With a varied diet, extra vitamin A is generally not necessary.
Is this supplement recommended during pregnancy considering the dosage of vitamin A?

Although this product does not contain an amount of vitamin A that is directly considered harmful during pregnancy, we still recommend consulting with a doctor or midwife before using this supplement during your pregnancy. They can provide the best advice based on your personal situation and needs.
Additionally, it's good to know that folic acid (or folate) contributes to the growth of the foetus during pregnancy. Folic acid is an important vitamin during pregnancy, so if you are not already taking a folic acid supplement, it might be a good idea to consider doing so.
Which tocopherols does this complex contain? And are they synthetic? For example, is the vitamin E a d or a dl-tocopherol?

There is no vitamin E in the complex (Solgar exclusively uses natural vitamin E).
