High-dosed multivitamins
There are multivitamins in all sorts of shapes and sizes. For instance, there are multivitamins that contain about 100% of the Recommended Daily Allowance of all vitamins and minerals, and multivitamins that are significantly higher dosed.
Generally speaking, it is mainly the multis that are known from TV and chemists that are relatively low dosed (Centrum, Davitamon, Supradyn etc.), while multivitamins from top brands such as Solgar, Source Naturals, AOV, Orthica and Vitaminhealth are generally much higher dosed.
Especially the B vitamins are often dosed much higher in these products. Sometimes such products contain a high-dosed B-complex, but a relatively low dosage of other nutrients (for example, certain minerals or vitamin D). For example, the well-known VM-75 contains high doses of the B-complex (75 mg of each B vitamin) but a fairly low dose of iron (1.2 mg). So, the fact that a particular product is labelled as 'high-dosed' does not necessarily mean that all nutrients are highly dosed.
