Ascorbate vitamin C, buffered (de-acidified) vitamin C

Vitamin C is also known as ascorbic acid. It is naturally an acidic substance, which can be combined with a basic component such as calcium or magnesium. These compounds are called ascorbates: calcium ascorbate and magnesium ascorbate. A special form of this is Ester-C.

Ester-C®

A special, patented form of buffered vitamin C is the so-called Ester-C®. This compound contains, in addition to calcium ascorbate, metabolites of vitamin C, namely L-threonic acid, L-lyonic acid, and L-xylonic acid.
