Good for my skin and hair
I've noticed that my skin improves with it, becoming less dry.
I have been using Vitaminstore's Pure GLA for a few weeks now and I can really notice a difference. My skin feels less dry and looks healthier. The softgels are easy to take, and I appreciate that the oil is cold-pressed without any chemical additives. I haven't noticed any side effects either. The price is a bit on the high side, but it's definitely worth it for the quality. I will certainly continue using this supplement!

I have read that pyrrolizidine is often found in borage oil and that this can be harmful to the liver. Does this also occur in this oil?
On 18 february 2020 by Customer serviceThe dried borage plant does indeed contain 10 mg of pyrrolizidine per kilogram of dried plant. Pyrrolizidine is an alkaloid that can cause damage to liver tissue, which is why it is important that supplements containing dried plant materials are not used for extended periods. Fortunately, the seeds and flowers do not contain pyrrolizidine. Borage oil is pressed from the seeds and therefore does not contain this substance.
Does this product contain vitamin E?
On 04 february 2020 by Customer serviceThe Pure GLA contains a mix of tocopherols; these are fatty substances that are part of vitamin E. The tocopherols have been added to prevent oxidation due to oxygen, thereby preserving the quality of the product.
I stopped taking GLA for a week because I ran out of stock and was unable to purchase more. Now I'm wondering how long it typically takes for the GLA levels in my body to return to what they were before? Or is it not a problem to stop taking GLA for a short period of time?

Our bodies can also produce GLA on their own, so a short break does not automatically lead to a deficiency in GLA. If your body struggles to produce GLA, it would take weeks or even months for a significant deficiency to develop. Therefore, stopping for a week is not an issue.

Since I started taking the gla (before going to bed), I have experienced pain in my head every morning or night. Do you have any more experiences with this....????

We advise stopping the supplement for 1 or 2 weeks to see if the symptoms subside. You could then take the supplement again to test if the symptoms return. If they do return, we recommend discontinuing use of the supplement.
