
Vegan vitamin D - free from animal ingredients
Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) is usually derived from lanolin (wool grease), which is obtained from sheep's wool. No sheep need to be killed for this, only sheared. For many vegetarians, this is an acceptable source. Generally, it is not for vegans. Below are a number of completely vegan vitamin D2 and D3 supplements, based on, for example, lichens or organically grown mushrooms.
