Excellent product, just a bit pricey
I've been using this vitamin D3 for years. I am very pleased with it, especially because it's organic and entirely plant-based.
I have been using this vitamin D3 for years. Also because it is 100% plant-based, including the capsule. It suits me well.
It's great that it's a completely plant-based product, with rice as an excipient. Excellent vitamin D3.
I think this is a good supplement. Because it is vegan and organic.
Until now, there was no plant-based vitamin D3 available. Vitamin D3 is usually derived from wool fat. Essential Organics is now the only brand with a 100% plant-based vitamin D3, which is derived from mosses. For this reason, it is suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
Not only is the content of the capsule plant-based, but the capsule itself is also 100% plant-based. Perfectly suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

Can children (4 years) take it as well?
On 13 december 2024 by Customer serviceYes, for children aged 4, the safe upper limit is 50 mcg (2000 IU) per day, and a good guideline for general maintenance is around 10 to 25 mcg per day (400 to 1000 IU). This dosage is therefore suitable for a 4-year-old child.
There is also a liquid product, specifically for children, the Viridikid Vegan Vitamin D3. You can give one millilitre per day, which provides 20 mcg (800 IU).
Is this product gluten-free?

Is the dosage of the tablets not too high? I have read that 20 mg per day is the maximum?

These capsules provide 25 micrograms (1000 I.U.), so well within safe limits. This dose can be taken throughout the year, and combining it with a multivitamin (which for instance provides 15 mcg of vitamin D) is also not a problem.
Hello, is this vitamin D3 also organically certified? The brand name suggests this, but I do not see it mentioned anywhere in the description.
On 25 september 2018 by Customer serviceNo, this product does not have an EKO certification as the raw material (lichens) is harvested from the wild and thus not sourced from an organic farm. The name of the manufacturer has nothing to do with organic cultivation. Nutritional supplements with organic certification are relatively rare (an overview can be found on this page).
The Vitamin D2 from Vitals is indeed sourced from organically grown mushrooms. However, D2 is absorbed less efficiently than D3. Therefore, the product from Essential Organics Pure is preferred.
