Silica

Kiezelaarde is also known as silicic acid or silicon, or under the English term silica. It is found in red algae (Lithothamnium calcareum), horsetail (Equisetum arvense), and bamboo. For plants, silicon is essential for the formation of cell walls.

In dietary supplements, it is available in dry form, and dissolved in a gel or liquid.
