Is the ascorbic acid that's present in products not a chemical substance and therefore not truly healthy? I understood that ascorbic acid is not natural or real vitamin C, is that correct?

In other words, there is no difference between ascorbic acid produced in a laboratory, which is nature-identical, and ascorbic acid found in fruit. Ascorbic acid is an essential nutrient and is very important for our health. Although the nutritional value of fruit may decline, it is still crucial to consume sufficient fruit (and vegetables) as a base, as there are many other nutrients and fibres present in fruits alongside vitamin C. As a supplement, it is wise to take a vitamin C supplement daily.
Our body recognises the Vitamin C with Rose Hips 1500 mg as natural food, even though the product is produced in a laboratory.
