On 25 july 2024 by Customer serviceThe Solgar Vitamin B-12 1000 µg nuggets (B12 chewable tablets) are free from GMOs, gluten, yeast, lactose, sugar, artificial colourings, artificial flavourings, and preservatives. They are also suitable for vegans and vegetarians.
Blood tests revealed that my B12 levels are significantly below the recommended range. I've now purchased these (chewable) tablets. Is 1 tablet per day sufficient or can I take more?

However, depending on body weight (a child who is already a bit larger for their age) and potential deficiencies, it is also possible to use B12 1000 mcg for an 11-year-old. Preferably, choose B12 in the bioactive form such as methylcobalamin or adenosylcobalamin. These forms are better absorbed by the body.
Which Vitamin B12 is suitable for a 5-year-old child?
On 20 june 2021 by Customer serviceThe most absorbable form of B12 is methylcobalamin, as found in the Vitamin B12 1000 mcg methylcobalamin lozenges. These are lightly sweetened (with tooth-friendly xylitol) and have a mild cherry flavour.
If your child has not been diagnosed with a deficiency, it is better to opt for a good children's multivitamin rather than just B12, ensuring they also receive sufficient fat-soluble vitamins A and D, iron, and other vitamins and minerals. A recommended choice is Elke Dag Junior. Elke Dag Junior provides B12 in the well-absorbed forms of methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin, in a dose of 10 mcg per day (400% of the Recommended Daily Allowance).
