Well-known adaptogens include Panax ginseng, Eleutherococcus ("Siberian ginseng"), Ashwagandha ("Indian ginseng"), Rhodiola rosea ("ginseng of the 21st century") and Dong Quai (the "female ginseng").

If tension is also present, you can additionally use calming herbs such as valerian. In contrast, for low moods, it is better to use uplifting herbs such as St. John's Wort.
