I use this amount because it also contains folic acid and tastes nice. I have a deficiency in vit. B12 but I use this every other day, which has now improved.
People over the age of 70 often exhibit a deficiency in B12. When using Omeprazole, this vitamin is broken down, so a supplement in this manner is recommended. The lozenges, in particular, are very pleasant.
Vitamin B12 was discovered in 1928 and is one of the 8 vitamins from the B complex. B12 is also known as cobalamin, named after the cobalt substance which is a component of the vitamin. Cobalamin is a water-soluble vitamin essential for your body. There are different types of vitamin B12:
• cyanocobalamin
• methylcobalamin
• adenosylcobalamin
• hydroxocobalamin
Cyanocobalamin is a synthetic type of cobalamin that still needs to be converted in the stomach into the active biological types of methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin. These biologically active types are also found in our food and, unlike cyanocobalamin, are easily absorbed by the body.
