What is the totox value of your Super Fish Oil and your Super Omega D3?

Hello, Recently, one of your stores advised me to purchase this fish oil. I have bought it and consequently have a few questions. - Where is the fish caught (which area)? - Does this product have an MSC certification? - I was assured that these capsules would not cause any burping and would not have a foul fishy smell. However, I find that these capsules do cause burping. I cut open the capsule and the smell was truly horrendous! Previously, I read in one of the questions that the TOTOX value is between 9-12. With this level of oxidation, I would not expect a fishy smell. Can you explain the fishy odour? Or is the current TOTOX value higher? - And can you tell me how the capsules are made? I understand that heating the capsule results in the loss of many fatty acids. Is this correct? Thank you in advance for your response. Kind regards, Danielle
On 05 june 2019 by Customer serviceDuring the production of a softgel capsule, the inside of the capsule wall remains cool. A flat sheet of gelatin is folded and twisted in such a way that it nearly closes. This is then sealed on the outside with lightly heated gelatin. This process, carried out in a special machine, does not adversely affect the contents of the capsules, even when it involves very sensitive contents such as omega-3 fatty acids.
While some capsules may have a lower chance of causing burps due to a thicker capsule wall, all fish oil capsules can potentially lead to a fishy taste burp when the capsules remain in the stomach for an extended period and open there.
If you experienced burping after taking the fish oil capsules with a meal, try taking them on an empty stomach instead. The capsule will not need to "wait" for the stomach to do its work but can move directly into the small intestine. Once past the pylorus, in the small intestine, the fishy taste or smell will no longer reach the mouth. For this reason, I personally prefer to take fish oil capsules on an empty stomach or with a light snack. A full meal can take 3 to 4 hours to pass through the pylorus, and during that lengthy period, burping is quite likely.
The contents of fish oil capsules will always have a strong fish smell. Good fish oil smells of fish. Or conversely: the reason fish stinks is that their flesh is so rich in omega-3 fatty acids.
The capsules smell of fish because they are made from fish gelatin (derived from scales).
This product does not have an MSC certification. However, it does have several other certifications for sustainable fishing, including Friend of the Sea and IFFO RS.
The fish is caught in the Pacific Ocean, to the west of Chile and Peru.
How does it affect your stomach? Because I have a sensitive stomach.

What about the heavy metals in this supplement? Most omega-3 supplements contain far too high a level of heavy metals, which is very taxing on the body.
