I experience tingling sensations almost immediately, similar to those with niacin. I now read that this can happen. Also, swollen lips. Beyond that, I cannot say much more about it. I use it instead of pharmaceutical gabapentin.
I have been using this supplement for over six months now and it works fantastically. The combination with 2 magnesium capsules is the perfect combo for me.
I've been using them for a week now. Just one capsule an hour before going to bed. I {***} {***} due to the heat and these GABA capsules work incredibly well.
It's a pity that vitamin B6 is included here again. When you add that to your multivitamin and certain magnesium supplements, which also contain it, you quickly exceed your maximum B6.
In my opinion, Gaba really works well.

Can I take this alongside mucuna pruriens and 100mg 5htp? Possibly supplement with rhodiola and ashwagandha?

Dear, I took 2 capsules of gaba yesterday. However, I found that I was awake at night because of it. Is this normal in the first few days? I also have a bit of stomach discomfort after use.
On 30 april 2020 by Customer serviceYes, initially this can be the effect of gaba, and this complaint usually subsides after a few days. Temporarily reduce the dosage to 1 capsule, and if the issue does not resolve after 3-5 days, it is best to stop using gaba for a few days. You can then try again with 1 capsule per day and see if your gut lining tolerates the gaba better by then.

It is best to stop for a few days and see if your body is tolerant to this substance upon reintroduction of GABA. If these symptoms recur, it is advisable to lower the dosage or discontinue use of this product.

Why is there carrageenan in Vitaminstore's GABA supplement? This is a harmful E number... Without it, I would buy them... Unfortunately, now I have to keep searching.

It is primarily, though not exclusively, used in oil capsules, such as softgels that contain, for example, algal oil. For some ingredients, HPMC or pullulan alone is not sufficient.
The fuss over carrageenan is unwarranted, at least regarding the minuscule amount found in these types of capsules. Certain soups may contain such a large quantity that consuming them daily in large amounts could be unhealthy (some ready-made soups, sauces, and puddings contain several grams of carrageenan per serving), but the quantities used to produce these capsules are so small (a few milligrams) that our bodies can easily eliminate them.
It is also important to realise that before 1988, the substance poligeenan was still referred to as carrageenan, even though it is a different substance. Research findings regarding "carrageenan" do not necessarily pertain to carrageenan. It is unclear whether the author of the original booklet, Corinne Gouget, based her judgement on data regarding poligeenan or carrageenan.
The booklets about supposedly harmful E numbers are extremely one-sided (nothing is said about dosage) and lack source references for the claims, leaving readers to simply believe what is stated. They unnecessarily complicate vegetarianism, as virtually all vegetarian alternatives to gelatine are on the "red list". We, like most other manufacturers in this sector, will not conform to this unscientific booklet. Some manufacturers have recently begun to respond to it, but that is essentially purely for economic reasons (a gap in the market) and their range will always remain limited.
There is no evidence that the intake of small amounts of HPMC or carrageenan poses any health risks whatsoever.
A possible alternative to this product is the GABA with B6 from NOW.
