The mineral zinc is involved in more than three hundred enzyme reactions, including those of antioxidant enzymes. Zinc, linked to the amino acid methionine, is a unique form of zinc with good bioavailability. Methionine is an essential amino acid.
N-acetyl-l-cysteine (NAC) is a compound of the sulphur-containing amino acid l-cysteine, which is a good precursor for the production of glutathione. Glutathione is a powerful antioxidant.
