Why is there a carcinogenic substance used as a filler? Microcrystalline cellulose has been identified by scientists as carcinogenic and advised against its use. I expected something different from a natural product. It's a shame!

However, it is important to mention that microcrystalline cellulose, a filler often used in supplements, is generally considered safe for human consumption. It is widely used in food and dietary supplements and is approved by health and food safety organisations worldwide and the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). Microcrystalline cellulose is simply an insoluble fibre. Insoluble fibres absorb moisture in the intestine, which means you could get diarrhoea if you consume a large amount. You won't experience any issues from the quantities found in supplements.
It is true that certain studies suggest there may be a link between microcrystalline cellulose and certain health issues. However, these studies are often conducted under specific conditions (such as high concentrations or inhalation of the substance) that are not representative of normal consumption through dietary supplements.

On 18 december 2025 by Customer serviceSolgar's Vitamin D3-4000 IU contains vitamin D3 derived from wool fat (lanolin). This is an animal source and therefore not plant-based. As such, it is not suitable for vegans but is suitable for vegetarians. If you are looking for a plant-based (vegan) option, you might consider a product with D3 sourced from lichen.
I am very allergic to shellfish, such as mussels, oysters, etc. Is there no fish oil in the oil in these capsules?

Vitamin K2 is particularly important for bone health, and since this supplement is not specifically intended for that purpose, K2 has not been added. Do you need a combination of D3 and K2? Then you can opt for a supplement that contains both vitamins, such as the Vitaminstore D3 & K2
