Hello, my ferritin level is 4.4. The doctor said that instead of what she prescribed, I could also take this, 1 tablet a day of 20 mg. This would amount to the same thing. How quickly will I notice an improvement?

Generally, it takes about 4 to 8 weeks before you can start feeling noticeably better (more energy, less fatigue). The recovery of the ferritin level itself usually takes several months, depending on how quickly your body replenishes the iron and whether you take it daily.
Continue using the supplement consistently and have your ferritin level checked again after 2 to 3 months to see if the level is rising.
Preferably take this product with some vitamin C or juice, for better absorption, and avoid coffee, tea, or dairy around the time of intake.
I currently take 1 capsule per day but I am still experiencing sweating and fatigue. I am 31 weeks pregnant; is it safe to take an additional capsule?

Since iron deficiency often develops gradually due to blood loss during menstruation, it is usually not sufficient to use the supplement only a week before and a week after menstruation. In cases of heavy periods, it may be wise to use the supplement daily, at least for a longer period, to rebuild your iron reserves properly. You may then be able to reduce the dosage in consultation with your GP or nutritionist. It's important to regularly check your iron levels in the blood.
A few tips for optimal use:
- Preferably take the supplement with a meal.
- Combine it with vitamin C (e.g. a glass of orange juice) for better absorption.
- Avoid taking it at the same time as coffee, tea, or dairy, as these can reduce absorption.
- If symptoms persist or if you experience fatigue, have your iron levels (ferritin and haemoglobin) checked by your GP.
