I use it regularly to recover from bad stomach days. I notice my stomach doesn't react badly to it, however I cannot notice any positive side effects
I take zinc in winter for immune support and it really works; when the rest of the family has a cold, I can keep things going
Easy to take and great for maintenance. Solgar is a good brand anyway.
Well-absorbed zinc.

I've been using Zinc for a few weeks now. I've heard that after a few months you should stop (for women) due to potential surplus. How long should one stop for?
On 21 march 2021 by Customer serviceThe safe daily dose of zinc for those aged 18 and older is 25 mg per day. This is calculated with a generous margin. It is not a problem to use zinc up to 25 mg per day indefinitely. Therefore, it is not necessary to stop temporarily.
Is it permissible for me to take this zinc supplement at the same time as my thyroid medication (Tirosint)? Or perhaps half an hour afterwards? And could it be harmful to take the supplement on an empty stomach? I have already asked my GP, but they are not familiar with the combination of zinc and thyroid medication.
On 14 may 2020 by Customer serviceZinc can be taken while using thyroid medication. However, we do advise taking zinc 2-3 hours after taking thyroid medication due to the risk of inhibiting the absorption of thyroid hormone. Additionally, it is advisable to take zinc with food, as taking it on an empty stomach may cause nausea.
Could you please explain what the daily dose is for a 15-year-old girl? Thank you.
On 21 january 2025 by Customer serviceThe acceptable upper limit of zinc for a 15-year-old is 22 mg. Teenagers may use it, but not daily; rather, every other day.
I take vitamin C1000 and Solgar's Omega 3-6-9 daily. I've now also purchased the chelated zinc. Is there any danger in taking these three supplements in one day?
On 17 june 2020 by Customer serviceThese three supplements can be perfectly combined with each other.
On 10 september 2009 by Customer serviceThe quality of minerals is determined by the extent to which a mineral can successfully reach its destination in the body. In order to pass through the intestinal wall and be absorbed by a cell, it must be bound to another substance ('transporter'), for example, an amino acid. This binding of an amino acid to a mineral is known as chelation. Chelates are the most bioavailable mineral compounds.
