I've been using these probiotics for just over a year now. Perfect for a bottle or mixed into porridge.
We've been using this probiotic for our daughter for almost a year now and are very satisfied.
This stuff actually does what the nasty sweet stuff from the doctor doesn't! My son is breastfed, and I couldn't get it into him with water/juice, but he took it just like that in a bit of cooked fruit puree!
My son uses it. I notice that it helps.
It dissolves well, my children don't find it unpleasant.

Composition per one and a half measuring spoons (2 grams):
Bacterial preparation 1.0 x 109 cfu* in approximately equal proportions:
Bifidobacterium infantis
Bifidobacterium lactis
Lactobacillus acidophilus
Lactobacillus casei
Lactobacillus salivarius
Lactococcus lactis
*cfu = colony-forming units
Ingredients
rice starch, maltodextrin, natural protein isolate, bacterial culture.
The recommended dosage for children from the moment of supplementary feeding up to six years is 2 grams per day (one and a half measuring spoons). Add the powder to lukewarm water or skimmed milk, yoghurt drink, lemonade (syrup) at room temperature, stir and preferably drink on an empty stomach. The recommended daily dosage for young children can also be added to one warmed bottle feed, expressed breast milk or a small amount of boiled and cooled water (maximum temperature 37°C). Carefully close the packaging after use, store dry and at room temperature, and use the opened package within 3 months.
Extra usage tips
At what time of the day?
It is preferable to take probiotics on an empty stomach, for example just before going to bed, but another time of day is also fine. When the stomach is empty, the probiotic bacteria are present in the stomach for a shorter time and no digestive juices are produced yet. These juices are, of course, useful for digestion, but they reduce the survival rate of the bacteria in the product. Wait half an hour after taking the supplement before eating, otherwise these juices will still be activated. If you can't take the probiotics on an empty stomach, take them at another random time.
Why dissolve?
The Orthiflor products in powder form and the powder from the capsules should preferably be dissolved and stirred in lukewarm liquid (see above) before taking. The billions of bacteria in the capsules, loose powder or sachets are put into a sort of 'sleep mode' during production so they can be stored for a longer period and need liquid to come back to life. If they were to enter the stomach acid directly in their 'sleep mode', a large portion of the bacteria would not survive. The bacteria also do not like cold liquid. Lukewarm liquid is preferred. If you opt for convenience and take probiotics in chewable tablets, your saliva provides the necessary moisture.

Does this product work well when taken after a meal? It is quite difficult to give the powder to my 2-year-old daughter on an empty stomach...

Is it also suitable for my 12-day-old daughter? This is due to antibiotics since birth.

For infants, there is the Orthiflor Start. This is suitable from birth, although Orthica has the following general disclaimer: "When used by infants younger than six weeks or by infants under medical treatment, expert guidance is necessary."
