Yogi Tea
For over 40 years, YOGI TEA® has been synonymous with delicious herbal and spice teas, rooted in unique Ayurvedic tea recipes and the 3,000-year-old Indian philosophy.
Yogi Bhajan, a master of Kundalini Yoga, arrived from India to the West in the late 1960s. During yoga classes, he shared his spiritual knowledge with his students and served them an aromatic spice tea, which the students affectionately called "yogi's tea." The enjoyment of the tea, with its pleasant aroma and taste, led the students to inner peace and tranquillity and opened up the world of Ayurvedic philosophy to them. Yogi Bhajan inspired them to seek their spiritual balance through the daily practice of Indian philosophy, which also includes 'mindfulness' towards fellow humans, nature, and oneself. Yogi Bhajan urged his students to pause, reflect, and find inspiration for their souls.
This unique Ayurvedic tea blend, based on an original recipe by Yogi Bhajan, consisting of cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, cloves, and black pepper, known today as YOGI TEA® Classic, was first introduced in Europe in the 1970s and officially offered under the brand name YOGI TEA® from 1987. Today, people from all over the world appreciate the distinctive flavours of more than 80 selected herbs and spices from controlled organic cultivation, which give the 60 different varieties of YOGI TEA® their unique aroma.
