Wool wax is a very light wax that provides sheep with good protection against rain and cold; at the same time, it moisturises the skin by attracting moisture from outside. This way, the skin doesn't dry out. Beeswax forms a very fine protective layer on the skin that is not occlusive, but allows air through. As these skin-friendly substances do not let cold, wetness, or wind through, the Weather and Wind Balm retains warmth and provides an enveloping effect like a winter coat. The balm is thin and oily, spreading well. However, it does not fully absorb into the skin but forms a fine wax layer, offering long-lasting protection.
