The Vitamin C booster is suitable for all skin types, especially for those with sensitive skin that is sensitive to sun exposure or seasonal changes. HerbaProtect® NOX
This product contains the patented HerbaProtect® NOX. HerbaProtect® NOX was developed following new discoveries regarding the influence of sunlight on the skin. We already knew that the best ways to protect your skin from sun damage are to apply a protective factor and avoid sun exposure as much as possible. Naturally, this can already limit part of the sun's negative effect on your skin. Recently, however, it has become clear that the stress the skin experiences from UV radiation lasts longer than previously thought. The adverse effect can last many hours longer and even persist deep into the night. Surprisingly, half of the damage caused by UV radiation occurs long after the skin has been exposed to the sun. Sunlight stimulates the production of extra free radicals that over-stimulate the skin's own melanin. The formation of extra radicals due to sun exposure will generally cause higher oxidative stress in the skin, leading to premature ageing and unwanted skin changes. Due to this new finding, that the skin sustains a large part of the damage long after sun exposure, there is a need for innovative skincare and protective products that are effective over a longer period to prevent delayed skin damage.

The advice from the Nutrition Centre is to be in the sun with at least your head and hands uncovered for 15 to 30 minutes between 12-3 pm for the production of vitamin D in the skin and then to protect the skin from the sun. The vitamin C products from Vitaminstore do not contain SPF and can therefore be used as usual. The advice is to protect the skin daily with an SPF cream if necessary.

Vitamin C and Vitamin E
Vitamin C and E have an antioxidant function. This means that these vitamins help protect (healthy) body cells from oxidative damage from external influences, such as air pollution and UV radiation. Vitamin C also has the ability to convert vitamin E back into its active working form, thus maintaining the activity of vitamin E.
