Vitalis is apparently a trustworthy Dutch brand which has a good quality control. I don't feel any direct effect of the Ubiquinol in my body but it was very easy ****
I take it in combination with a statin
I take this ubiquinol along with ALA and NT Factor as a quick energy source for my cells - due to chronic fatigue. Great product!
good product
This product contains a high dosage of ubiquinol, the biologically most active form of Q10. In supplements containing Q10, the oxidised form of this nutrient, known as ubiquinone, is commonly used. Oxidised Q10 is largely converted into ubiquinol, the reduced form of Q10, after oral intake. This conversion process, which can be hindered by various factors (such as advancing age), is unnecessary when using ubiquinol. Ubiquinol in a ready-to-use form has been available for use in supplements since 2006. Orally administered ubiquinol is better absorbed and leads to greater bioavailability than ubiquinone. In many situations, supplementation with ubiquinol will therefore be preferred over regular Q10.
Research on both animals and humans has shown that administration of ubiquinol, compared to an equal amount of ubiquinone, results in higher Q10 levels in blood plasma. Further research indicates that the differences are more pronounced in older individuals than in younger people. In a study where healthy elderly individuals were given 100 mg of ubiquinol or 100 mg of ubiquinone three times a day, it was found that the plasma Q10 level in those who received ubiquinol was twice as high. Furthermore, there are indications that replacing ubiquinone with ubiquinol supplementation in certain individuals can lead to even greater differences in plasma Q10 levels.
Internal and external sources of Q10
The body is supplied with coenzyme Q10 both through its own production and through dietary intake. Foods with the highest concentrations of Q10 include dark green vegetables such as broccoli and spinach, nuts, and meat. Offal, in particular, is a relatively good source of Q10.
The body's own Q10 production, which occurs in several steps, requires the presence of a wide range of nutrients. Poor eating habits can therefore easily lead to insufficient Q10 supply. Additionally, the amount of reduced Q10 (ubiquinol) available through the daily diet is generally limited, as ubiquinol is easily oxidised to ubiquinone during food preparation. The body's ability to produce Q10 itself usually declines gradually with age, a process that often begins around the age of forty. It has also been found that the body is less capable of converting ubiquinone to ubiquinol in older age. In older animals, the ratio of ubiquinol concentration to total Q10 concentration in plasma improved significantly with ubiquinol supplementation, whereas this effect was less pronounced with ubiquinone administration. A healthy diet is a primary requirement to ensure sufficient coenzyme Q10 in the body. To supplement the intake of Q10 through diet, one can opt for supplementation with a Q10 or, better yet, a ubiquinol preparation.
Kaneka Ubiquinol™
Dietary supplements with coenzyme Q10 have been available for decades, but initially, these were exclusively preparations with ubiquinone, the oxidised form of Q10. This was due to the fact that ubiquinol oxidises easily when exposed to air or light. Consequently, there were insurmountable challenges in manufacturing a supplement that maintained the nutrient's reduced state. However, the supplier of Vitals Ubiquinol, the Japanese company Kaneka, was the first to succeed in developing a patented process using advanced technology to create a ubiquinol supplement of consistent quality. As a Q10 specialist with years of experience, Kaneka can also guarantee that Kaneka Ubiquinol™ is completely natural and body-identical, offering the highest possible bioavailability.

Is it possible to open this capsule and mix it with juice, water, or applesauce?
It is possible, but not recommended, because there is oil in the softgel capsules. Some of the oil will always remain in the capsules, which means the composition is no longer complete and it cannot guarantee optimal effectiveness.
How large are these capsules?
The Vitals Ubiquinol 100mg capsules are approximately 1cm in size.
In the Ubiquinol (Q10) 100 mg from Lamberts, the Q10 is dissolved in sunflower oil. A downside is that this product does not contain lecithin (a natural emulsifier that helps different fats mix optimally).
The Ubiquinol 100 mg (Q10) is manufactured according to a patented process, managed by Kaneka Corporation. This is a quality guarantee, but the effectiveness of the product is not necessarily better than the aforementioned supplements.
