It all sounds very nice that the sunshine vitamin is also represented in our daily diet, but the amounts are negligible. To give you an idea, you need to eat around 500 grams of cooked salmon per day to meet your vitamin D needs. Additionally, the sun in the Netherlands is only strong enough to meet the skin's radiation needs for five months a year. D3 supplementation therefore seems to be a necessity rather than a luxury for every Dutch person, especially in the darker months. Moreover, the health-promoting effects of vitamin D3 are endless.
