Our diet often shows a deficiency in Omega-3 fatty acids. Over the past 20 years, much attention has been given to Omega-6 fatty acids (vegetable oils and margarines) in our diet. Proportionally, insufficient Omega-3 fatty acids are consumed compared to Omega-6 fatty acids, which disrupts the eicosanoids (EPA) balance. Under the influence of good fish oil, the fat spectrum appears to change. Regular use of Omega-3 fatty acids, like other macronutrients, is important for expectant mothers. I don't eat fish due to allergies, so this is a fantastic addition.

Personally, I find this fish oil works the best!
- EPA and DHA are beneficial for the heart with a daily intake of 250 mg EPA/DHA
- EPA and DHA are beneficial for triglyceride levels in the blood with a daily intake of 2 grams EPA/DHA. Additional daily intake of EPA/DHA should not exceed 5 grams
- EPA and DHA are beneficial for blood pressure with a daily intake of 3 grams EPA/DHA. Additional daily intake of EPA/DHA should not exceed 5 grams
- DHA is beneficial for vision, the brain, and triglyceride levels. With a minimum intake of 250 mg DHA per day
- The intake of DHA by the mother contributes to the proper development of the eyes of the foetus and in breastfed infants. With a minimum intake of 250 mg DHA per day
- Vitamin E has an antioxidant effect

Can I take this during pregnancy, and if so, how often per week?
On 30 april 2024 by Customer service'Vitakruid Fish Oil Forte' is a source of Omega-3 fatty acids, EPA, and DHA. The intake of DHA by the mother contributes to the proper development of the eyes of the foetus and in breastfed infants. This is with a minimum intake of 250 mg DHA per day.
However, as with any supplement, we recommend discussing its use with your midwife/GP before starting, especially during pregnancy.
