I have only been taking taurine for 2 weeks and I really notice that I have more [.....]. The downside is that I also become a bit [.....], I hope that will lessen with longer use. For now, I am happy with the [......] after years of [......].

Hello, I have three questions. Many taurine supplements indicate that they work well with glycine and GABA. - As different amino acids can counteract each other, I was wondering if I can mix these three amino acids? - At the moment, I am already taking glycine. What added value does GABA provide in this case? - Or is there a complete amino acid preparation that you would recommend? A bit of background: I am a vegetarian, but I eat beans and drink soy milk to compensate. Currently, I am taking glycine and want to combine it with taurine for [.....].
On 17 march 2025 by Customer serviceIt is perfectly fine to take about two to three amino acids simultaneously (at the same time of day). And if you were to take them at different times, the amino acid competition would not matter at all. Furthermore, this amino acid competition issue is only relevant when you aim to achieve a specific effect in the brain.
Vegetarians, and especially vegans, are particularly at risk of insufficient intake of L-lysine, L-carnitine, and taurine.
Plant-based foods generally provide sufficient L-glycine.
There is no need to combine taurine with the neurotransmitter GABA. Your body can produce extra GABA on its own if necessary. It is not an essential nutrient.
To support the natural cleansing of the liver and normal gallbladder function, we recommend herbs such as milk thistle, turmeric (curcuma), artichoke, and dandelion, as found in our Milk Thistle Complex.

You could also take the amino acid about half an hour before a meal, possibly with some fruit juice. The capsule will be absorbed into your bloodstream within approximately twenty minutes, after which you can eat normally. The meal you consume will remain in the stomach for a long time before the released amino acids appear in your bloodstream. By that time, the amino acid you took will have already been absorbed by your brain.
If you are not taking the Taurine 500 mg for brain function but rather for sports, it doesn’t matter much when you take it. However, it is of little use to take taurine alongside protein-rich foods, as the most protein-rich and especially animal-based foods (meat, fish, dairy, eggs) already provide ample taurine. Taurine as a dietary supplement is particularly beneficial when taken in a high dose on an empty stomach.
