I wanted to try a pure form of magnesium, so I purchased this. It doesn't taste particularly pleasant, and I can only manage to take it with orange juice. I am satisfied with its effectiveness, but I found the super magnesium to work better, so I will go back to that next time. It is quite an expensive product for what it is. However, the bisglycinate form is also costly to produce.

You also need to take a gram of this powder to obtain 100 mg of elemental magnesium. The manufacturer advises (as a general guideline) a daily dosage of 2.5 grams of powder, which corresponds to 250 mg of magnesium. This is equivalent to two and a half tablets of the Chelated Magnesium.
Although magnesium bisglycinate occupies a significant amount of space and thus requires a relatively large intake, this mineral compound is excellently absorbed.

The vast majority of the magnesium oxide will change into the desired magnesium bisglycinate. However, a very small remainder will not be bonded to glycine. This remainder is still magnesium oxide.
All such supplements consist of more than 99% magnesium bisglycinate and a minuscule, negligible fraction of magnesium oxide. It is indeed not mandatory to mention that fraction. Solgar is one of the few manufacturers that does (see the Chelated Magnesium).
The Magnesium Bisglycinate Powder should provide at least 250 mg of elemental magnesium per 2500 mg of powder. This is 10%.
The percentage listed in the ingredients (67%) refers to the Recommended Daily Amount.

The Vitamin Powder also delivers 200 mg of Vitamin C, which is already a good maintenance dosage. He could possibly supplement this with the Vitamin C chewable tablets.
Adding Vitamin D is definitely recommended, as well as omega-3 fatty acids (from fish oil). A good source of these nutrients is Möllers Cod Liver Oil tutti frutti/Möllers Cod Liver Oil lemon. Combined with 4 grams of the Vitamin Powder, this provides a total of 15 micrograms of Vitamin D, 40 mg of Vitamin E, 705 micrograms of Vitamin A, 400 mg of EPA, and 600 mg of DHA. These are excellent amounts.
