I have been struggling with feelings of anxiety triggered by virtually nothing for some time now. I had to take sertraline (an antidepressant) and although it did help, it also changed me. After some research, I decided to stop taking sertraline and switched to tryptophan, taking it in the morning and evening. It has naturally increased my serotonin levels and, in my opinion, works even better than sertraline as it has no strange side effects. I highly recommend it for people like me!
I have been taking tryptophan in the evening for some time now to improve my sleep and serotonin production due to a hypersensitive nervous system. Previously, I used the one from the Vitamin Store, which is also fine. However, that supplement, like almost all other brands, contains extra Vitamin B6. I heard from my GP that Vitamin B6 can accumulate in your body if too much is taken. Since I also take a multivitamin with a particularly high dose of B vitamins, I was looking for pure tryptophan, and Now is the only one that offers that. So it's good to keep this in mind when making a choice! Furthermore, Now contains 500mg instead of 400mg like other manufacturers.
