The fatty acid C8, also known as Caprylic Acid, is found in butter, coconut, palm oil, and the milk of mammals. It is the shortest chain in the MCT fat chain. As a result, the body can convert C8 into energy very quickly and easily. The fatty acid C10, also known as Capric Acid, is found in coconut oil, palm kernel oil, goat's milk, and animal fats. And the fatty acid C12, also known as Lauric Acid, makes up about 48% of the fat in coconut oil. You can also find it in palm oil and milk.

MCT C8 is most commonly used for increased energy for athletes or a ketogenic diet. C8 together with C10 is also used in ketogenic diets and for health complaints.
