CO2 Extraction versus Decarboxylation CO2 extraction allows for the removal of certain components from an organic product without the use of harmful solvents and heat. This ensures that enzymes and vitamins sensitive to heat are not lost, and the product remains untainted. All naturally valuable components, including terpenes, are preserved. Methods (e.g., decarboxylation) that do use solvents and heat often compromise the naturally occurring active substances. Heating CBD oil also removes the sharp taste naturally present in hemp. Mattisson CBD oil, therefore, has a sharp taste.
