Bonusan's omega 3 is a fine product. High quality and easy-to-swallow capsules.
Algae are at the base of the marine food chain. Fish consume the algae and store the DHA in their tissues. When you choose algal oil instead of fish oil, you return to the plant-based source of DHA. This makes it suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
DHA is beneficial for the brain and vision. It helps maintain normal fat levels in the blood. Moreover, replacing saturated fats with unsaturated fats in the diet contributes to maintaining normal cholesterol levels in the blood. This is particularly beneficial within the Western dietary pattern.
In addition to DHA, one capsule of Omega-3 Algal Oil provides a daily dose of vitamin D3 sourced from lichen (a fungus). Vitamin D3 plays an essential role in maintaining strong bones and teeth. It enhances the absorption of calcium in the bones and contributes to normal calcium levels in the blood. Additionally, it has a positive impact on the immune system, the process of cell renewal, and ensures stronger muscles and increased muscle strength.

Is this product suitable for pregnant women? I've noticed that other products mention being purified; is this also the case for this product?

Bonusan uses algae produced in a protected and controlled environment for their algae oil. These algae are cultivated to ensure control over the nutrients present and the hygiene of the water in which the algae grow. This allows them to maintain their quality standards optimally.
After extraction from the algae, the oil is thoroughly purified and meets strict quality requirements. For the stabilisation of the algae oil, plant-based tocopherols (vitamin E), vitamin C, and rosemary extract have been added. This optimises the quality while keeping the product 100% plant-based.
Can I use the fish oil with vitamin D for my children as well? They are 10 and 8 years old. And would you also recommend a multi? I would like to use one supplement for myself (the mother) and my children.

Good day, I have a question regarding this algae oil. The text states that it is vegan, but I see that gelatine is included in the ingredient list. Isn’t that always made from an animal product?
On 07 july 2019 by Customer serviceI have just checked the text and do not see the word gelatine mentioned. However, there is glycerine (also known as glycerol). Glycerine can be produced from both animal and plant fats. In this formula, it is of course plant-based glycerine.
The capsule shell is made from these plant-based ingredients: modified maize starch, glycerine, carrageenan, sodium carbonate.
The capsules are suitable for vegans.
