Take 1 to 2 capsules daily at least half an hour before meals. Do not take the capsules with protein-containing foods. NAC is usually used in a dosage between 200 and 1200 mg per day, taken throughout the day. Nausea and/or stomach irritation may occur if NAC is taken on an empty stomach. Taking NAC with a light digestible snack without protein (e.g. fruit) often resolves this issue.
