My daughter considers it a treat she can have every morning! Absolutely brilliant.
Easy-to-take chewable tablet with a very sweet taste
Good product, children really enjoy those little animals.
Vitamin D for my 3-year-old daughter, she really likes the little animals and therefore happily eats them every day. It's also nice that it has a higher dosage than the "normal" children's vitamin D.
Great product to give the kids extra vitamin D during the winter months. They love it and even remind their mothers that they haven't had their vitamin "sweet" yet!
This Vitamin D3 from Animal Parade contains 12.5 micrograms (500 IU) of vitamin D3 per chewable tablet. In nature, vitamin D is found in two forms: the plant-based vitamin D2 (ergocalciferol) and the animal-derived vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol). Of the two, vitamin D3 (sourced from sheep's wool) is absorbed much more efficiently.

- vitamin D is important for calcium and phosphorus absorption to maintain strong bones and teeth

Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) 12.5 mcg 250%

Ingredients:
Cane sugar, fructose, sweetener (xylitol), beetroot juice, anti-caking agents (fatty acids, magnesium salts of fatty acids), acidity regulator (citric acid), natural flavours, gelling agent (guar gum), vitamin D3.
Vitamin preparation.
Give your child 1 chewable tablet daily, preferably with a meal, unless otherwise recommended by a doctor or expert. Suitable for children aged 3 years and over who can chew well. Do not exceed the recommended daily dosage. Excessive use may have a laxative effect.

I give my daughter a spoonful of Möllers Cod Liver Oil every day (also available from you). It contains vitamin D; can I give this in addition, or would that be too much? (my daughter is 3.5 years old)
On 11 october 2019 by Customer serviceThe Möllers Cod Liver Oil provides 10 mcg of vitamin D per serving. These chewable tablets each deliver 12.5 mcg of vitamin D. Together, that would total 22.5 mcg.
For children aged 1 to 10 years, the safe upper limit is 50 mcg per day. Therefore, with 22.5 mcg, you are well below that. It is an excellent dose for children aged 3 years and older.
If vitamin D is derived from the fat (lanolin) in sheep's wool, how can the tablets be vegetarian?

Lanolin is an ingredient that according to the Vegetarian Society may be present in products with the "vegetarian V-label certification" but not in products with the "vegan V-label certification". It is not uncommon for vegetarians to use animal products, provided that no animals have been killed for them, such as milk, honey, and eggs. Since no sheep need to be killed for lanolin, only sheared, it is considered an acceptable ingredient for vegetarians but not for vegans.

And although the official advice is 10 mcg per day for children up to 4 years old, many experts suggest that ALL children from 1 year old benefit from a daily intake of 25 mcg. It is therefore perfectly reasonable to err on the side of caution and provide a bit more than 10 mcg per day.
On 30 march 2017 by Customer serviceVitamin D3 can come from wool fat or fish livers (cod liver oil). It can also be derived from certain mushrooms and lichen. All of these are absorbed equally well, as they are the exact same substance.
Only natural vitamin D is available. If no source is specified, you can assume that wool fat has been used as the raw material.
In addition to vitamin D3, there is also D2 available. This form is always plant-based but must first be converted in the body to the active form, making it less efficient than D3.
Vitamin D3 chewable tablets do not contain any ingredients from pigs.
