Every Day Basic is a carefully designed multivitamin intended for young people who are healthy and live healthily, as a foundational supplement to their diet. In its composition – as with all multis in the Every Day series – well-absorbed substances and compound forms have been chosen, and in responsible, balanced dosages. Each nutrient takes into account the average intake of youths and young adults, considering the estimated daily needs to support or promote optimal health. This has been done using very recent data and the latest insights.

What makes Every Day Basic special
Every Day Basic contains responsible amounts of B vitamins. Consideration has also been given to the body's ability to absorb and convert the various B vitamins, as well as the latest scientific insights. The biologically active (co-enzyme) forms of vitamin B2 (riboflavin-5’-phosphate), B6 (pyridoxal-5’-phosphate), B12 (methyl- and adenosylcobalamin) and folic acid (5-methyltetrahydrofolate glucosamine salt) are used. These are the forms as used by the body, and research shows that these have a higher bioavailability.

European government bodies have established that the level for adequate intake of vitamin D from food is 15 mcg. In the Netherlands, they are still cautious and indicate that 10 mcg is sufficient. However, Vitals assumes that higher dosages are desirable. Therefore, Every Day Basic contains a generous dosage of 20 mcg per tablet. Moreover, the source of this vitamin D3 is plant-based (Vitamin D3V®), and does not come from sheep's wool fat.

The formula also contains 30 mcg of vitamin K1 and 60 mcg of vitamin K2. Vitamin K1 is mainly absorbed by the liver, while vitamin K2 is distributed much more across the body tissues. Vitamin K2 has a much higher bioavailability and is more effective in achieving an optimal vitamin K status. Vitamin K is important for the blood clotting function, but particularly vitamin K2 is important for activating specific vitamin K-dependent enzymes that ensure calcium ends up in the right place, in the bones.

Vitamin K2 is, by the way, a sensitive substance. Especially in combination with calcium and/or magnesium, the content of this vitamin in a tablet or capsule decreases rapidly. Vitals uses a high-quality K2 ingredient (K2Vital® Delta), which is even stable in a formula with many of these minerals. A patented microencapsulation process is used, whereby the fat-soluble K2 particles are protected with two layers against air, light, and interaction with other ingredients. This way, it is guaranteed that the K2 content in Vitals' products remains stable.

A special feature of this multi is that it contains relatively high dosages of calcium and magnesium. And the source of these minerals is also special: they are from the brand Aquamin® and come from the sea. The magnesium (Aquamin Magnesium) is obtained from the seawater of the Irish Sea, and the calcium (Aquamin Calcium) comes from a red algae called Lithothamnium calcareum. This species of algae absorbs minerals and trace elements from the sea and stores them. This magnesium and calcium also naturally contain small amounts of more than 70 trace elements.

For the minerals iron, zinc, copper, and manganese, amino acid chelates (bisglycinates) were chosen. Here, each mineral particle is powerfully bound (chelated) to two molecules of the amino acid glycine. Minerals in this compound form reach the small intestine well and are very well absorbed.

Ingredients:

Take 1 tablet daily with a meal with water or as advised. Adhere to the recommended dosage. This food supplement is not suitable for children under 1 year (legally required statement for products up to 3 mg of vitamin B6 and with more than 15 mcg of vitamin D).

Note:
The vitamin K in this product makes it unsuitable for simultaneous use with coumarin derivatives (anticoagulants such as acenocoumarol and phenprocoumon). These medicines are also known as vitamin K antagonists and their effectiveness is reduced by intake of vitamin K from food and supplements.
