The borage plant (Borago officinalis), also known as borage or cucumber herb, is a well-known kitchen herb with blue flowers, originating from the Mediterranean countries and spread across Europe and North America over the centuries.

Rich in GLA
Borage oil is the richest natural source of gamma-linolenic acid (GLA). This is a polyunsaturated omega-6 fatty acid that is scarcely found in the diet. The body can, in principle, produce GLA itself from (cis) linoleic acid. However, in situations where there is an increased need, it can be beneficial to supplement the diet with a GLA supplement. Factors that can play a role in this include excessive consumption of trans fats, saturated fats, sugar, alcohol, and carbohydrates.

Organic
The active ingredients of organic food supplements are guaranteed to be of natural origin and not synthetically manufactured.
