On 18 may 2020 by Customer serviceMagnesium malate powder contains only magnesium malate. Magnesium malate is a compound of magnesium and malic acid. 1 gram of magnesium malate provides 150 mg of elemental magnesium, with the remaining 850 mg being malic acid.
Hello Vitamin Store, I have been using this product for a week now, but I have noticed that the dosage is very precise; a little too much and I experience diarrhoea the next day. I have tried several variants of magnesium, including magnesium citrate, but is it true that malaat is particularly sensitive for causing diarrhoea? In any case, I am being very cautious now and I think I will prefer to order malaat capsules next time.

Two grams of powder provides approximately 300 mg of magnesium. Diarrhoea usually only occurs with an intake of 500 mg at once. To obtain 500 mg of magnesium, you would need to consume 3.3 grams of powder.
How do you measure the dosage? With a scale or with a teaspoon? It is advisable to measure the dosage with both a teaspoon and a scale for the first few days, so you know exactly how much the contents of a teaspoon weigh.
Additionally, you could spread the dosage throughout the day, so your intestines only deal with about 150 mg of magnesium at a time instead of 300 mg all at once.
