Ascorbic acid is the form of vitamin C found in vegetables and fruit. Ascorbic acid is by far the most well-known form of vitamin C. It is the variant that naturally occurs in our diet. Oranges, broccoli, and apples; the vitamin C in these foods is all classified under the name ascorbic acid. The often-heard argument that ascorbic acid is not such a good form of vitamin C is therefore somewhat misplaced. Always satisfied with the vitamin store, lots of choice and fast delivery. Personally, I find this Vitamin C better than the buffered Vitamin C from Vitakruid.
Citrus bioflavonoids for better absorption of vitamin C
Bioflavonoids are plant nutrients also known as vitamin P. Citrus bioflavonoids are found, among other places, in the soft white part under the peel of citrus fruits. Unfortunately, during cooking, vitamin P disappears from our diet by 70 to as much as 90 percent. Supplementation is therefore far from an unnecessary luxury.
Research also shows that vitamin P ensures 35 percent better absorption of vitamin C. Citrus bioflavonoids also ensure a slower absorption of ascorbic acid and reduced excretion via urine. Better absorption and higher bioavailability were the pillars for adding vitamin P to this ascorbic acid supplement!
Rosehip extract
Rosehip is the fruit of our well-known love flower: the rose. The antioxidant already contains vitamin C by itself, for this extract this amounts to as much as 45 percent. But that is not the reason we have added a rosehip extract. The plant from which the rose comes is much more than just a symbol of love!
