Glutathione is produced by the body from the amino acids cysteine, glutamine, and glycine, and is the most important sulphur compound in our body. In certain situations such as excessive oxidative stress, radiation, pollution, ageing, viral and bacterial infections, medication, poor nutrition, surgeries, burns, heavy metal load, and poisoning, the need for glutathione is increased and it is rapidly consumed. Glutathione protects our cells against damage, ageing, and diseases, and maintaining its levels plays an important role in orthomolecular therapy. The intake of normal glutathione, even in the reduced form, has the disadvantage of being inactivated by peptidase in the intestines. By adding the acetyl group, this glutathione remains stable, optimising its bioavailability.

It's not mentioned anywhere how you should take it. Can you remove the casing, should you only take the powder? Or is the casing edible as well?
On 30 may 2023 by Customer serviceThe casing is indeed edible. These are known as vegicaps, which you can take whole, just like a tablet. However, if you find swallowing difficult, you can open the capsule and mix the powder into yoghurt or a smoothie.
