GABA in food
GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) is a neurotransmitter found in various foods such as leafy greens, soy and broad beans, nuts, seeds, tomatoes, and eggs.
Additionally, the body can produce GABA itself from the amino acid glutamine. Glutamine is primarily found in protein-rich foods such as meat, fish, dairy products, eggs, soy, and other legumes, but also in spinach, cabbage, sprouts, and beetroot.
Cofactors needed for conversion
Proteins from your diet are converted into, among other things, glutamine, which is then used to form GABA. Cofactors, such as vitamins and minerals, are needed for this conversion. Vitamin B1 is one of the most important cofactors for this conversion. That is why our formula contains 1.5 mg of vitamin B1.
