Dear Sir/Madam, I have a few questions regarding this product: MSM Glucosamine Complex - VIRIDIAN Question 1) Are the following three ingredients also present in the capsule itself: alfalfa, spirulina, and blueberry? Question 2) I assume that the fungus (Aspergillus niger) from which glucosamine is derived is cultured on these three ingredients? In that case, my second question is, spirulina easily binds to heavy metals, so if it is cultivated in water containing heavy metals, wouldn't this end product also contain heavy metals? Has the company tested this end product for heavy metals? Could you tell me more about this or inquire further? Question 3) Do you know if this MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) comes from the manufacturer Bergstrom Nutrition or another producer? This could make a difference in contamination with heavy metals, so I would like to know where/from which producer the MSM comes. 1) Alfalfa, spirulina, and blueberry are present in the capsule and act as fillers.
2) No, Aspergillus niger is cultured on other substrates, and after harvesting, glucosamine is isolated from the fungus and placed in the capsules. The spirulina in this product has not bound to heavy metals. Dietary supplements must legally meet certain quality and safety standards. Viridian also complies with these standards and has its products tested for various contaminants, including heavy metals.
3) The producer Viridian has chosen for the MSM is not known. We have forwarded your question to Viridian. As soon as I hear more from Viridian, I will inform you further.
