Maple syrup is available in different grades: A and C. These grades indicate the clarity and taste of the syrup. - Grade A maple syrup is obtained from the first tapping and is light brown in colour. - Grade C maple syrup is (dark) brown and has a stronger caramel flavour. Maple syrup can be perfectly used as a sweetener in various baked goods, applesauce, stewed pears, fruit salads, pudding, muesli and yoghurt, on fruits, ice cream, pastries and pancakes. It can also be used as a sweetener in tea or coffee.
