Oysters contain a wide range of vitamins, amino acids, minerals, and trace elements.
The mutual ratio of the aforementioned elements is so beautifully balanced that their effect is synergistic, meaning they enhance each other.
The small muscle is nourished by the high glycogen content that provides the necessary energy required for such an exertion.
Glycogen is converted into glucose, the glucose is consumed and a waste product is released (the so-called lactic acid).
The very high taurine content, found in the slimy fluid of the oyster, then breaks down the lactic acid.
This is precisely where the strength of the oyster lies.
Energy is provided in the form of glycogen and the fatigue-inducing lactic acid is neutralised by the amino acid taurine.
