I was looking for a sugar-free vitamin for my 6-year-old son. I automatically came across Plantina. Since it wasn't a chewable tablet, I asked the manufacturer for a sample. Unfortunately, that wasn't possible. I purchased the expensive vitamin, but my son simply cannot swallow it. I've tried everything, including the manufacturer's tips... I even cut the tablet, but then there's also a horrible taste... So unfortunately, we need to look for something else....
You can also use the Plantina Multi Junior yourself without any concerns if you are not currently taking a multivitamin. The composition is very similar to multivitamins for adults.
My children, aged 4 and 9, take these without any trouble; they simply take a sip of water, pop the tablet in, and swallow it down. They never complain about the taste. It's nice that this tablet contains no unnecessary additives; it's one of the few vitamins for children that I've been able to find, free from fillers or sweeteners that they really shouldn't be consuming. Of course, it is also a tablet with a good composition and a high dosage of B vitamins, which not all of them have. I am very pleased with it.
My children (aged 8 and 10) have been using these vitamins for two weeks now. The tablets are not too big, so they're relatively easy to take; however, the taste is simply unpleasant. The children complained about it, so I tried one myself, and I can't blame them. What I don't understand is why there can't be a coating on them to make it easier for children to swallow without tasting it. Furthermore, I do feel that the children are sleeping and eating a bit better since using them, but it's still a bit too early to make a definitive judgement.
A product that can mask the taste and make swallowing easier is Gloup Slik Weg. However, this gel does contain the sweetener aspartame.

On the Plantina website, it states that these tablets are not suitable for children under 10 years, but under another section on the Plantina website, it states that it is suitable for ages 1-17 years. In your opinion, which is correct?
The following is stated on the Plantina website: "This dietary supplement is not suitable for children up to and including 10 years. Children aged 11-17 years, 1 tablet per day".
Why is the amount of B6 so high in this vitamin, 429% of the daily requirement? It has just been announced that this could be harmful. There are a few others, such as vitamin E, that exceed the daily requirement. We ensure our child eats healthily and this is merely a supplement because the soil is poorer these days. So now I am in doubt about purchasing a new jar. We still have plenty, but those were valid until May 2018. That is my second question: should I throw them away or can they still be used?
The new maximum dose for individuals aged 10 to 17 years is 7 mg, while this multi provides 6 mg. This is therefore within safe limits.
The B6 in this Plantina Multi Junior is also in the form of pyridoxal-5-phosphate, the coenzymatic (directly usable) form, which has no known harmful effects.
The Reference Intake (formerly Recommended Daily Amount) is not the same as the maximum dose. Therefore, it is not a problem if the percentages of some nutrients are much higher than 100%. Especially sporty adolescents in growth may benefit from some extra vitamin B6. It is a very important and useful vitamin, and both excess and deficiency are undesirable. The dose in this formula is just right.
Unopened packages can still be used well after the expiration date. Multivitamins are usually good for 3 to 5 years (or longer) after the expiration date, provided the packages are stored in a relatively dark, cool place. If the tablets are still smooth on the outside and not cracked, they will have nearly the same quality as they did three years ago. Regarding supplements, the expiration date is actually mainly relevant for sales.
A jar that has been opened should ideally be used within six months. Once opened, the action of moisture can negatively affect the quality of the tablets.
Under the heading ‘usage’, you can find the recommended dosage for this supplement. The recommended usage for this product is as follows:
children from 4 years to approximately 12 years: 1 to 2 tablets. Therefore, for ages 9 and 12, I would suggest administering 2 tablets daily.
