Glucosamine Pharma Nord is an over-the-counter, registered medicine in the pharmacotherapeutic group of 'agents against rheumatic diseases'. The product consists of hard, white gelatin capsules (size 0) containing glucosamine sulphate in an amount equivalent to 400 mg of pure glucosamine. Each capsule also contains 87 mg of potassium. Glucosamine Pharma Nord is intended to relieve the symptoms of mild to moderate osteoarthritis of the knee.

Active Ingredients
The active ingredient is glucosamine. This is present in the form of glucosamine hemisulphate 2KCl-potassium chloride complex, equivalent to 400 mg of glucosamine (= 509 mg of glucosamine hemisulphate).
Excipients
Magnesium stearate, gelatin, titanium dioxide (E 171)
The capsule(s) should be taken with a full glass of water. Read the leaflet before use
Adults and the elderly:
Take 1 capsule 3 times a day (this means 1200 mg of glucosamine, equivalent to over 1500 mg of glucosamine hemisulphate). The daily dose can also be taken all at once.
Glucosamine is not recommended for acute pain. The effect usually becomes noticeable within a few weeks after the start of treatment and in some cases longer. If no improvement occurs after 2-3 months, the treatment should be reassessed.
Children:
Glucosamine Pharma Nord should not be used by children under 18 years without medical supervision. In case of impaired kidney and/or liver function: Follow your doctor's instructions.
- If you are hypersensitive to shellfish, as the active substance is derived from shellfish.
- If you are hypersensitive to glucosamine or any of the other ingredients.
